Dr Shailesh Gurunath Pethe is a senior veterinary professional with more than 28 years of experience spanning veterinary medicine, wildlife healthcare, animal-disease control, laboratory quality management and public administration. An alumnus of Bombay Veterinary College, he completed his M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine with specific expertise in transfusion medicine.

Dr Pradnya Pethe is a veterinary surgeon in Mumbai with 25 years of clinical experience. She completed her Master’s in Veterinary Surgery from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai, in 2001 with distinction and has performed a wide range of soft-tissue surgeries during her career. She believes that the pursuit of knowledge, skills and learning is a lifelong journey.
What we are
MumbaiVet CritiCare is based in Mumbai. Its established transfusion service manages donor care, prepares leukocyte-reduced packed red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma, provides typing and cross-matching, performs transfusions, monitors patients and records outcomes.
Product availability is only one part of that work. Safe transfusion care also depends on indication review, component selection, compatibility testing, administration, monitoring and a usable patient history.

Clinical scope
The transfusion service currently works with canine donors and registered veterinary practices. Participating practices are reviewed before they can request products or service support.
